Smarter Workflows for Standalone Tasks
Gold Star Pro now makes it possible to create tasks in workflows without needing a contact. Previously, adding a task required a contact record to pass through the workflow—or the step would be skipped. Now, standalone tasks can be created for internal work, giving your team more flexibility.
How It Works
When the Add Task step runs, it creates a standalone task if no contact is present.
If a contact does exist, the task will attach to that contact as usual.
All task fields (assignee, due date, priority, notes, description) are supported in both cases.
How to Use
In your workflow, add an Add Task action.
Set assignee, due date, priority, and description.
Run the workflow from a non-contact trigger (e.g., Inbound Webhook) to create a standalone task.
Save and publish.
Why This Matters
More Flexibility: Create tasks that don’t need to be tied to a specific person.
Team Productivity: Use workflows to manage ops checklists, billing follow-ups, or content deadlines.
No More Blockers: Removes the “must have a contact” requirement, so automations can handle all types of tasks.
Use Cases
Agencies running internal to-dos for billing, reporting, or onboarding.
Teams creating content workflows with deadlines that don’t involve specific contacts.
Ops managers automating recurring checklists without linking tasks to clients.
