Smarter Workflow Editing with the New Version History

Smarter Workflow Editing with the New Version History

October 15, 20252 min read

How It Works

Gold Star Pro has given Version History a complete makeover — adding new restore functionality and a cleaner interface that makes tracking, reviewing, and restoring workflow versions effortless.

Now, every saved version of your workflow is automatically logged with a timestamp, version label, editor name, and status (like Draft or Published). You can easily browse up to 10 previous versions or 30 days of history, then restore any one of them in a single click.

This means you can experiment freely, make big changes, and roll back anytime without losing your work.

How to Use

  1. Go to Settings → Labs and enable Workflow Builder Enhancements.

  2. Open any workflow, then click the Version History icon on the left toolbar.

  3. Browse through saved versions — each is organized by date, label, and editor.

  4. Click Restore beside any version to open it as a new draft.

  5. Optionally, click Create New Workflow from Version to branch off and build a variation.

Each restored version is treated as a new draft, so your original workflow remains safe and untouched.

Why This Matters

Until now, workflow editing could feel risky — one wrong change and your previous setup might be gone for good.

With the new Version History Revamp, that’s no longer a concern. You can:

  • Restore Instantly: Roll back to a previous version in one click.

  • Review Easily: Browse a clean timeline of saved edits, authors, and timestamps.

  • Experiment Safely: Test new ideas or logic without overwriting your current build.

  • Stay Organized: Label versions clearly (like “v1.3 – Post-Launch Update”) for quick reference.

This upgrade is part of Gold Star Pro’s continued mission to make workflow building faster, safer, and smarter — giving you full creative freedom without the fear of losing progress.

Use Cases

  • Testing New Automation Paths: Duplicate an old version to explore a new strategy.

  • Error Recovery: Quickly revert to the last stable workflow version after a failed test.

  • Team Collaboration: Track who made which edits and when for better accountability.

  • Version Control: Maintain clean iteration records for compliance or client work.

With Version History Revamp, Gold Star Pro brings peace of mind to every automation edit — so you can move fast, experiment boldly, and always have a safety net.
