Optional Profile Setup for Communities
How It Works
You now have more control over how members join your Gold Star Pro communities.
A new setting lets you decide whether members are required to set up a profile when they join a community, or whether they can skip it entirely.
By default, profile setup remains on, meaning new members are prompted to add a profile picture and basic details when joining.
If you turn this setting off, members will no longer be forced to complete a profile and will not see the profile setup modal at all.
This applies to each community individually, so you can choose what makes sense based on how that space is being used.
How to Use It
Go to Communities inside your Gold Star Pro account
Open the community you want to update
Head to Settings
Toggle Show mandatory profile modal on or off
Save your changes
That’s it. New members will follow the updated flow immediately.

Why This Matters
Not every community needs the same level of formality.
For some spaces, having full profiles helps members connect and engage more deeply.
For others, especially support-focused or fast-access communities, mandatory profile setup can slow people down or create unnecessary friction.
This update lets you decide how structured or lightweight your community experience should be, without workarounds or compromises.
Extra Improvements Included
Alongside this update, a few additional improvements have been rolled out inside Gold Star Pro communities:
• Improved formatting for posts sent via email, including better spacing and bullet handling
• More accurate “Add to Calendar” files for events
• New group name variable available in event emails
• Fixes for visibility issues with private links and group descriptions
These are small changes, but they add up to a smoother, more reliable community experience.
