New Guest Features for Appointments!
Managing guest bookings just got easier. Recent improvements give businesses better control over how guests are handled during the appointment process—especially useful for services that involve group or paired bookings.
Let’s break down what’s new and how to make the most of these features.
What’s New?
1. Charge Based on Total Attendees
Now you can set your calendar to calculate payments based on how many people are attending, not just the person booking.
The system counts both the primary booker and any added guests.
The booking widget multiplies the base service price by the total number of attendees.
Ideal for services priced per person—like workshops, group therapy, or classes.
2. Make Guest Details Mandatory
A new setting ensures guest info isn't skipped.
When enabled:
The user must add at least one guest to continue.
The form will always ask for either a guest count or names and emails.
Perfect for services where guests are expected—such as couples counseling or group reservations.
How to Enable These Features
Follow these steps to set up the new guest-related options in your calendar:
Step 1: Enable Required Guest Info
Go to Calendar Settings.
Click Edit Calendar.
Navigate to the Forms & Payment tab.
Find the Add Guests section.
Toggle Require Guests for Booking to on.
Step 2: Enable Per-Attendee Payments
In the Payments section of the same tab:
Turn on Collect payment for all attendees.
This setting ensures the payment reflects the number of people in the booking.
Why This Matters
These enhancements can make a big difference for service-based businesses. Here's how:
Fewer Payment Surprises: Everyone is accounted for in the final cost.
Better Data Collection: No more missed guest info.
Smoother Bookings: Great for industries where multi-person scheduling is the norm.
Less Support Needed: Fewer issues around booking and billing guests.
Ideal For:
Events and workshops
Couples or group therapy
Family appointments
Shared services or team-based bookings
Restaurant and venue reservations
These new settings are a simple yet powerful way to reduce friction in multi-attendee bookings. Whether you're managing events or everyday appointments, adding this level of control helps ensure a better experience for both your clients and your team.
