A recent update introduces significant enhancements to the community features in Gold Star Pro, including the highly requested "Merge Contacts" function. This new feature streamlines user management and improves how contacts and their activity are organized. Below is a breakdown of how this feature works and what to expect.

Merging Contacts

Managing multiple instances of the same contact is now easier with the new contact merge feature. This tool ensures a smoother experience by allowing you to combine duplicate contacts into one master record.

How to Merge Contacts:

  1. Access the Smart List: Go to the contact smart list in your community management area.

  2. Select Contacts: Choose the duplicate contacts that need to be merged.

  3. Merge Contacts: With a simple merge option, the selected contacts will combine into a single profile.

  4. Posts and Comments Merged: All posts, comments, and interactions from the secondary contact will be merged under the master contact.

  5. Role Management: The highest role between the merged contacts is assigned to the new master contact. For instance:

    • If one contact is a user and the other is an admin, the merged profile will inherit the admin role.

    • If the highest role is "Owner," the master contact becomes the new owner and will automatically gain access to all private channels.

  6. Secondary Contacts Removed: Any secondary contacts and duplicate likes will be deleted to prevent redundancy.

  7. Updates to Posts: Author names on posts and comments will be updated to reflect the new master contact.

What’s Not Included Yet:

  • Course progress and activities across multiple contacts will not merge at this time.

  • Leaderboard positions will remain separate until future updates.
