Custom Values for All Field Types!
A powerful new update has rolled out, giving you more control over drop-down, numeric, and date fields with the option to use custom values. This is a significant upgrade designed to enhance workflow efficiency, making it easier to input and manage your data.
Let’s break down the key aspects of this update and how you can make the most of it.
Custom Value Picker for Different Field Types
Before this update, when working with fields such as drop-downs, you were limited to predefined options, like a list of tags. But what if you wanted to input something custom? Now, you can!
Here’s how it works:
Access the Field: When interacting with a drop-down, numeric, or date field, you’ll notice a small three-dot icon.
Choose Custom Value: By clicking the three dots, you can opt to use a custom value instead of selecting from the predefined options.
Input Custom Values: You can now manually enter your own custom values into the field. This feature has been extended across all field types, offering more flexibility in how data is managed.
Switching Between Standard and Custom Values
The best part? You aren’t locked into using custom values. You can easily switch back to standard options anytime:
Click the three-dot icon again.
Select the standard option to revert back to the predefined choices (e.g., tags or numbers).
This gives you complete control over how you handle data in different scenarios.
Current Rollout: Contact Fields First
This feature is currently being rolled out in phases. It has been introduced for the "Contact" and "Remove Contact Tag" fields as a testing ground, where it’s expected to have the most immediate impact. As the feedback comes in, there are plans to expand this functionality to other field types.
Some real-world applications include:
Adding custom tags to contacts without predefined choices.
Inputting custom dates or numeric values that are specific to your workflow.
What’s Next?
The ultimate goal is to extend this capability across all relevant fields in the system, ensuring you have the flexibility to use custom values wherever needed.
Feel free to explore these new options and provide feedback as we continue improving. This simple yet powerful enhancement promises to make your workflow smoother and more adaptable.
